While on the tutorial phase of Return to Moria, you must complete a series of objectives in order to rebuild the old camp. We’re here to explain how to finish these tasks by showing you the materials required for the build.

Once you arrive at Ori’s Outpost in Return to Moria, you must set up a base by constructing a Hearth and Bedroll. A broken Stone Hearth can be found inside the room, but you must collect 10 Stones to make it.

You can use your pickaxe on any of the stone rubble on the ground, and there should be more than enough for you to collect within this vicinity. Players may also hit broken-down walls to acquire an abundance of the material.

After you’ve rebuilt the Stone Hearth, the Bedroll recipe should be available via the Build menu, and you can craft it with six Cloth Scraps. To find these resources, you must hit areas with wood and cloth-like items lying around or simply pick them up from the ground.

You can then place the Bedroll near the Hearth and claim it to begin your much-needed rest. Keep in mind that the bed must always be within range of a Hearth, or else you won’t be able to put it down. I also recommend placing a few torches and stone walls in this room since creatures can infiltrate your base.

How to Get Meat in Return to Moria

Re-constructing the base will cause your character to go hungry, so you must collect some meat to fulfill your hunger. Players can obtain these items by taking down rats around the area. I suggest using an axe for this, given that it will bring the creature down faster. However, it would help if you did this interaction rather quickly to match the rat’s speed.

You’ll eventually discover more types of meat as you go along, but for now, rats are the best way to go during the beginning stages. Then, players can use it on the Stone Hearth to make the Roast Meat recipe, which requires three pieces of meat with a cooking time of 45 seconds.

After you complete this, you must expand the old camp further by crafting the Wood Chest via the Build menu and rebuilding the Furnace with Stone. Players will also need to collect Iron Ore, marked with a pickaxe icon on the map. You can craft and obtain the Iron by placing it into the Furnace, unlocking the Iron Sword recipe.

How to Forge an Iron Sword in Return to Moria

Once you’ve rebuilt the Forge with the two Iron Ingots, you’ll need three more ingots, four Wood Scraps, and a Hide Scrap to craft the Iron Sword. You may have difficulty finding the Hide Scraps, as they cannot be obtained through rats.

Return to Moria Hide Scraps

Players can get Hide Scraps by taking down formidable creatures deeper in the base, excluding Snackrats. I found some other variants of animals once I moved past Ori’s Outpost, providing scraps and some meat.

As a result, you should be able to craft the Iron Sword, thus concluding the Prepare for the Long Dark quest in The Lord of the Rings: Return to Moria. For more content, be sure to check out the relevant links below, including our review of the Gollum game.
